Part of the Grande Edição Comentada e Ilustrada d’Os Lusíadas, the exhibition Dez Cantos Abertos proposes a contemporary reading of Camões’ seminal work, bringing together artists and writers from across the Lusophone world in a dialogue between word, image, and memory.
Opened on May 15 at Central das Artes, in Porto de Mós, the exhibition is presented in collaboration with the newspaper Público and the publishing house Bela e o Monstro. In anticipation of the exhibition, the Municipality of Porto de Mós presented a programme of open artistic residencies, curated by Ricardo Barbosa Vicente, featuring the artists António Faria and Cássio Markowski.
The residencies invited visitors to engage closely with the artists’ creative processes, rehearsals, and conceptual development. The resulting artworks are being presented as part of the exhibition, which also brings together the works of Cristiano Mangovo, Francisco Vidal and René Tavares, on view until September 30.
