Through this project, "DISCURSOS DE COLONIALIDADE", the gallery aims to generate a dialogue among six Angolan artists reflecting on the concept of decoloniality and seeking to promote a reflection on how African contemporary art, in general, and Angolan contemporary art, in particular, has been asserting itself on a global scale.
This project, curatorially developed for the first edition of the Luanda ArtFair 2024, reflects on the importance that the Angolan Diaspora, personified in some of the presented artists, curatorial projects, research, and the study of documentary funds assume in the production of a renewal of the historical discourse of art in contemporaneity.
Represented Artists: Osvaldo Ferreira, Rómulo Santa Rita, Luís Damião, Nelo Teixeira, Benigno Mangovo and Pedro Pires.
