Overview
Luso-Brazilian artist Paulo Albuquerque prepares to inaugurate Cronotopia da Presença on 23 May, 6:30 pm at THIS IS NOT A WHITE CUBE, a solo exhibition featuring a completely new and previously unseen body of work.
Expanding on his recent research into the relationship between time, space, and perception, Albuquerque reflects on the experience of the present within a context marked by acceleration and visual saturation. Through layered compositions, processes of accumulation and repetition, and a restrained organic palette, the artist constructs visual narratives where stillness, attention, and contemplation emerge as forms of perceptual resistance.
The exhibition anticipates the gallery’s participation in ARCO Lisboa 2026, where works by the artist will also be presented.
