Débora Sandjai Angola, b. 1996
Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of "Kintsugi," Débora Sandjai uses acrylic, charcoal, and pastel to represent and highlight the imperfections inherent in the human condition. Through this approach, the artist not only promotes the acceptance of each individual’s idiosyncrasies and scars but also seeks to elevate them, celebrating their existence as intrinsic elements of a unique beauty, rich in meaning.
Débora Sandjai has participated in various group exhibitions, artist residencies, and diverse projects, both in Luanda and in other cultural contexts. Her works invite the public on an introspective journey, where each piece serves as an invitation to contemplate and appreciate the imperfect beauty of human existence.
