THIS IS NOT A WHITE CUBE will be at the 2024 edition of the RMB Latitudes Art Fair in Johannesburg, with works by Benigno Mangovo & Osvaldo Ferreira.
The fair has been carefully organised to offer a pan-African showcase of talent. Galleries and artists from across the continent will be showing their work in Shepstone Gardens, a magnificent three-acre estate, and visitors will be invited to discover and explore every corner of the indoor-outdoor venue, enjoying a diverse programme of exhibitions, talks, films and performances.

Osvaldo Ferreira's exploration delves into the everyday life of Angolan society, reflecting on intergenerational continuity and discontinuity in social experiences. Through vibrant paintings that echo the exuberant colors of African textile traditions, Ferreira emphasizes Africa's cultural and social heritage. His work serves as a poignant reminder of Africa's complex history of colonization, globalization, and cultural manipulation, while celebrating the resilience and beauty of its identity.
