THIS NOT A WHITE CUBE contemporary art gallery expands its international presence with the opening of a new space in Chiado, one of the most iconic districts in Lisbon's cultural and bohemian heart.
To celebrate this special occasion, from May 27 to July 17, the gallery presents simultaneously in both delegations, in Lisbon and Luanda, a solo show by the Santomean artist René Tavares.
“In Memory We Trust” promotes a reflection on the notions of memory, history, tradition, heritage, and miscegenation.
The exhibition shows more than 30 works produced between 2012 and 2021, including a major unpublished group of its latest works, and features, through two distinct groups ( in Lisbon and in Luanda), a significant variety of media, from painting to drawing, photography, and installation.
Entrance is free, following the necessary safety and prevention rules both by gallery staff and visitors.
