“Atlantic Laboratory” highlights contemporary artistic production connected to São Tomé and Príncipe

Opened on 11 September at the UCCLA – Union of Portuguese-Speaking Capital Cities gallery, the exhibition “Atlantic Laboratory – Contemporary Art from São Tomé and Príncipe” aims to reveal the richness and complexity of artistic production connected to the archipelago, positioning São Tomé and Príncipe as a true crossroads of the arts and a laboratory of contemporary creation.

 

Curated by João Carlos Silva and Ricardo Barbosa Vicente, the show features works by Amadeo Carvalho, Eduardo Malé, René Tavares and Yuran Henrique, among others, whose practices explore diverse artistic languages and cultural intersections across the Atlantic space.


The exhibition is open until 11 December 2025, at Avenida da Índia, no. 110, in Lisbon.
