BEYOND BOUNDARIES: GROUP SHOW
Past exhibition
Overview
With works by Cristiano Mangovo, Gonçalo Mabunda, Luís Damião, Nelo Teixeira, Rómulo Santa Rita, Uólofe Griot and Samuel Nnorom, the exhibition encourages the public to embark on a captivating and enlightening journey through the creative diversity of contemporary African Art and some of the questions it raises through its cycles of constant renewal, forged by the incessant transfiguration of the global society in which it is integrated and which it mirrors.
Through a laborious exhibition discourse, the inveterate notion of "border" is centrally questioned, whether in terms of its meaning in the field of territorial delimitation in Africa, or in terms of the idea of stratification or dissolution applied to the integrated artistic disciplines of sculpture, painting and drawing with three-dimensional contours.
"Beyond Boundaries" is a manifesto celebrating difference and the free human spirit that these seven artists materialize in tangible and timeless forms. It's a unity that translates the celebration of difference and reflects a multiple social landscape in constant renewal.
Included Artists: Cristiano Mangovo, Gonçalo Mabunda, Luís Damião, Nelo Teixeira, Rómulo Santa Rita, Uólofe Griot and Samuel Nnorom
