Yuran Henrique Cape Verde, b. 1993
Yuran Henrique lives and works between Spain and Cape Verde. A multifaceted and inventive artist who constantly explores themes related to perception and representation, and social dynamics through fiction, while analysing the affective potential of different materials. With solo exhibitions; Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno, in the Cabildo of the Canary Islands, Spain, entitled "Calendars", (2018) Bienal de Cerveira, in Portugal, for Young Creators of the CPLP (2017); Already in 2022 he participates in the programme of the Ásíkó art school, in Lagos, Nigeria, a programme dedicated to artists and curators. Also in the same year, he wins the Africa No Filter 2022 Emerging Artists Fellows award. More recently, his prints appeared on the catwalk at SPFW - São Paulo Fashion Week, where two models paraded with dresses from the collection of Cape Verdean designer Angela Brito.
