Manuela Pimentel

Graduated in Visual Arts by Escola Superior Artística do Porto [2003], Manuela's  work is developed in different areas and artistic practices such as painting, drawing, scenography and video.

 She was distinguished with the ESAP award from the Higher Course in Plastic Arts [2004] and was distinguished with the 1st prize for Painting Servartes – Body in Expression [2007].
Manuela Pimentel represented Portugal with the installation “Iberian Suit: Installation – A Journey of Imagination” at Kennedy Center (Washington D.C., USA) [2015] and at Biennale Internazionale d’Arte, Sant ‘Antioco – (Sardinia, Italy) [2015]. She was invited by the Afro Brasil Museum in São Paulo to participate in the exhibition “Baroque Ardente e Sincrético” curated by Emanoel Araújo [2018].
She has developed several projects in partnership with other artists, highlighting interventions in Scenography for Theater and Cinema.
In 2013 Manuela founded the project CAIX Contemporary art with the Plastic Artist JAS, where they develop collective and individual projects.

Her work has also been shown in other countries such as, Brazil [São Paulo / Rio de Janeiro], United States [Washington D.C., Italy [Rome / Sardinia]; Mozambique [Maputo]; Spain [Madrid] among others.

Manuela Pimentel exhibits individually and collectively since 2001 and her work is represented in different public and private collections.
